10 years committed to Ukraine’s prosperity!

10 years committed to Ukraine’s prosperity!

On July 16, 2025, Agroprosperis Bank celebrates its first decade on the Ukrainian banking market. These 10 years have been a story of transformation, trust, and steady development. We entered the market during the most difficult period for the banking system and, over the years, have built a resilient bank with exceptional expertise, financial stability, and customer trust. Today, we belong to the mid-sized segment of Ukrainian banks by all key indicators and offer reliable financial solutions for farmers, businesses, and every Ukrainian.

From seed to harvest: a story that began in 2015

The story of Agroprosperis Bank began as a testament to investment confidence in Ukraine’s potential. In 2015, US investment group NCH Capital acquired the insolvent Astra Bank from the state. This was the first and remains the only successful transaction of this kind in Ukraine. The new investor provided financing, a strategic vision, and transformed the bank into a unique institution — the only bank in Ukraine specializing in lending to small and medium-sized agricultural producers.
NCH Capital is one of the leading global investors in the agricultural sector. Since its founding in 1993, the company has raised $6 billion in investment capital from major institutions in the US and Europe. In Ukraine, NCH invests in the Agroprosperis Group, which cultivates about 280,000 hectares of land and exports over 3 million tons of grain to 40 countries annually.
This powerful agricultural background laid the foundation for our banking model: an insider’s understanding of the sector, a focus on farmers’ real needs, flexible approaches, and effective financial tools.

10 years of steady growth

Our operations started during a period of macroeconomic turbulence and a systemic banking crisis — in 2015, the number of solvent banks dropped by a quarter, and inflation hit a record high since Ukraine’s independence. Later came even greater challenges: the COVID-19 pandemic and full-scale war. But thanks to strategic management, strong investor expertise, and the dedication and professionalism of our team, in 10 years we built a resilient, profitable bank.
At the time of acquisition, the bank had UAH 170 million in assets and UAH 166 million in losses, placing it in the second hundred by market position. Over 10 years, Agroprosperis Bank built an effective business model from scratch, ensured stable development, and achieved significant results.

Our results as of 01.05.2025:

  • assets – UAH 5.98 billion (35th place)
  • deposit portfolio – UAH 5.17 billion (31st place)
  • funds of individuals – UAH 1.45 billion (30th place)
  • agribusiness loans – UAH 1.36 billion (16th place)
  • profit for 2024 – UAH 31 million (32nd place)

In addition, based on 2024 results, Agroprosperis Bank ranked 20th in the stability rating of banks by the Minfin portal, 22nd in the YouControl financial scoring of Ukrainian banks, and 15th place in the "Bank Champions of Business" ranking by Forbes Ukraine among institutions that have built the highest-quality banking business during the years of war.

"We started in very challenging times. But we believed in the idea, the team, and our clients. Today we are a stable, profitable bank trusted by depositors, entrepreneurs, and farmers across the country. Our main achievement is not just the numbers, but what stands behind them: real growth stories, the development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector, and sustainable businesses. And of course, our team — professional, united, and responsible. They create value for clients every day and actively participate in volunteer initiatives, helping our country endure and win,” — said Serhii Shchepanskyi, Chairman of the Management Board of Agroprosperis Bank.

Changing the rules of agrilending

Agroprosperis Bank is the only bank in Ukraine specializing in lending to small and medium agribusinesses. Access to the long-standing successful experience of the Agroprosperis Group gives us a unique understanding of farmers’ needs, seasonality, risks, and opportunities. This enables us to offer financing that truly works.
From day one, we have changed the approach to agricultural lending in Ukraine. In February 2016, we were the first bank to provide small producers with access to financing secured by agricultural receipts — at a time when other banks denied them due to lack of collateral or credit history.
At the beginning of 2024, we were among the first to offer investment loans for the purchase of agricultural land under the state program “Affordable Loans 5-7-9%,” opening new growth horizons for farmers. This year, Agroprosperis Bank is once again an innovator: we are the first bank to issue an agricultural note — an innovative digital instrument that streamlines access to financing secured by future harvests. But we don’t just lend — we provide expert support in choosing agritechnologies, suppliers, and machinery. We help sow and harvest on time, but most importantly — we help build a sustainable business with long-term prospects. The vast majority of our borrowers are long-standing clients, and it is rewarding to see how they grow with us.

A bank you can trust

In 10 years, we have earned the trust not only of clients but also of the expert community. The bank holds an investment-grade credit rating of uaAA, indicating very high creditworthiness, and the highest deposit reliability rating of ua1, confirmed quarterly by the “Expert-Rating” agency. We are a long-standing partner of the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) and an authorized bank for state payments.

Our achievements and high reliability are confirmed by prestigious industry awards, including:

  • For the growth dynamics of the agri-loan portfolio – at the Main Financial Award of the Year 2024 from the Ukrainian Association of Banks (UAB)
  • “Best Bank for Agribusiness” and “Leader in Savings Reliability for Individuals” at the All-Ukrainian “Bank of the Year” competition by IFC Bankir in 2022–2024
  • “Best Deposit” at FinAwards 2024
  • “Leader of Agrarian Banking” at Banker Awards 2024

Client funds in the bank grow annually and now exceed UAH 5 billion — a strong indicator of the bank’s resilience and high level of trust from depositors.

Thank you for 10 years together!

We thank all our clients, partners, and employees. Thanks to you, 10 years of Agroprosperis Bank means 10 years of steady growth, real support for agribusiness, and new opportunities for Ukraine’s economy. And we are confidently moving forward — toward new achievements, together with you.
We remain true to our mission: to finance small and medium producers of export-oriented agricultural products by offering loan products fully tailored to the needs of agribusiness, helping them and the Ukrainian agricultural sector as a whole to increase profitability, resilience, and efficiency.

“Ten years ago, we started with an ambitious idea — to create a bank that understands farmers and speaks their language. Today, we are a financial partner for hundreds of agricultural producers, Ukrainian businesses, and thousands of depositors. We don’t just finance — we build trust, support growth, and work for the future. And we remain a smart choice for every Ukrainian who wants to securely save and grow their savings,” — emphasized Serhii Shchepanskyi, Chairman of the Management Board of Agroprosperis Bank.

We continue working for Ukraine’s prosperity!
