On the completion of the process of withdrawing from circulation banknotes with denominations of 1, 2, 5, and 10 hryvnias issued in 2003–2007

On March 2, 2026, in accordance with the requirements of Resolution No. 14 of the NBU Board dated February 17, 2026, the process of withdrawing 1, 2, 5, and 10 hryvnia banknotes issued between 2003 and 2007 from circulation will be completed.

From that date, such banknotes will no longer be accepted as a means of payment in cash transactions and all enterprises, retail chains, banks and financial institutions will not accept them for payments for services, goods and payment transactions.

As part of the completion of the process of withdrawing banknotes in denominations of 1, 2, 5 and 10 hryvnias, until February 26, 2027, inclusive, Agroprosperis Bank will:

  • accept from clients-legal entities any remaining banknotes of the above denominations for crediting to their accounts;
  • exchange banknotes for individuals issued between 2003 and 2007 for coins and banknotes of all denominations currently in circulation, without charging a fee for such exchange.

We also inform you that banknotes with denominations of 1, 2, 5, and 10 hryvnias can be exchanged without restrictions and free of charge:

  • at all branches of banks in Ukraine — within one year from the date of withdrawal from circulation, until February 26, 2027 inclusive;
  • at authorized banks (Oschadbank JSC, PrivatBank JSC, Raiffeisen Bank JSC, PUMB JSC) — for three years, until February 28, 2029 inclusive;
  • at the National Bank of Ukraine — indefinitely.

The replacement of low-denomination banknotes is taking place as part of the transition to the use of corresponding coins, which have been in circulation for a long time and have a significantly longer period of use.
