Agroprosperis Bank has provided financing to an agrarian producer using an agrarian note, continuing the practical application of this instrument in the Ukrainian market. The funds were raised by the “ASKANIA IF” farm in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
The collateral for the agrarian note is a future harvest of white cabbage totaling 151 tons. This crop was used for the first time as collateral within the framework of agrarian notes and agrarian receipts.
Agroprosperis Bank has many years of experience in introducing new financial instruments for the agrarian sector. In 2016, it was the first among Ukrainian banks to begin financing through agrarian receipts. Following the launch of agrarian notes in 2025, Agroprosperis Bank became the first and currently the only lending bank for this instrument.
An agrarian note is an electronic security that records an agrarian producer’s obligation to make a payment in the future and is secured by a pledge of the future harvest. The instrument is recorded in the centralized Register of Agrarian Notes of the National Depository of Ukraine. The development of this instrument creates additional opportunities for agrarian producers to access financing and complements existing market solutions.
The introduction of agrarian notes in Ukraine is taking place with the support of international partners, in particular the project to develop the agrarian sector’s access to capital markets, which is being implemented by the IFC in partnership with the Swiss Confederation.
