Agroprosperis Bank and EFSE have launched a grant program for businesses in Ukraine

Agroprosperis Bank and EFSE have launched a grant program for businesses in Ukraine

Agroprosperis Bank, in partnership with the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) co-managed by Finance in Motion, has launched a grant initiative to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Ukraine.

The program combines loan financing provided by Agroprosperis Bank with non-repayable grant support funded by EFSE. The initiative is designed to support businesses operating under wartime conditions that require additional resources to invest, adapt to evolving challenges, maintain operations, and strengthen their resilience and competitiveness.

Given Agroprosperis Bank’s specialization in financing MSMEs, the program is expected to reach numerous agricultural producers and entrepreneurs across different regions of Ukraine, particularly smaller companies with limited resources for which access to capital is critical to maintaining business continuity and supporting future growth.

Grant program terms

The program focuses on key areas of recovery and sustainable development of Ukraine’s economy:

  • adaptation of agricultural businesses;
  • recovery of enterprises most affected by war;
  • investments in critical recovery.

The grant amount may reach up to 20% of the loan amount, depending on the financing purpose, capped at EUR 20,000. Businesses located in the regions most affected by the war, as well as companies led by representatives of vulnerable population groups, may qualify for additional grant support of up to 5%.

More information about the program terms and application process is available on the Bank’s website in the Business grants from EFSE section.

Strategic partnership between Agroprosperis Bank and EFSE

Agroprosperis Bank and the European Fund for Southeast Europe have been partnering since 2019, increasing access to long-term financing in Ukrainian Hryvnia for micro, small, and medium-sized agricultural producers across the country.

Commenting on the launch of the new program, Serhii Shchepanskyi, Chairman of the Management Board of Agroprosperis Bank, emphasized that combining loan financing with a grant component significantly enhances support for MSMEs: “This mechanism effectively reduces the financial burden on businesses, creating a more resilient environment for their recovery, adaptation, and growth. In today’s reality, this instrument enables entrepreneurs not only to sustain their operations but also to plan for the future with greater confidence.”

Oxana Binzaru, Regional Director at Finance in Motion, co-manager of EFSE, said: "Agriculture remains vital to Ukraine’s economic stability, food security and the recovery effort. Through our partnership with Agroprosperis Bank, EFSE is expanding access to the financial resources that businesses need to navigate uncertainty, invest in their operations, and remain productive under exceptionally difficult circumstances. By helping these enterprises today, we are investing in Ukraine’s recovery and economic renewal for years to come."

With EFSE’s support, the Bank has also expanded its remote banking capabilities, making access to banking services more convenient and efficient for clients. This initiative was recognized with an industry award in the Digitalization category.
